Hi! I'm Mrs. Jenice and my daughter, Deja, and I are the owners of Peak Potential Preschool, LLC. For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to work with children.
With an Associates in Early Childhood Education from Edgecombe Community College, I'm passionate about creating a nurturing and engaging environment for our young learners. I am CPR and First Aid Certified, as well as a Medical Assistant by trade. I have worked in the medical field for years and this has helped me have compassion when working with a diverse population of individuals. I believe in "when you listen, you learn and when you learn, you have listened." My favorite part about teaching children is witnessing the joy of discovery, seeing a child's face light up when they learn something new or master a skill for the first time and it's incredibly rewarding. It's also fulfilling to help nurture their social, emotional, and creative growth during such a formative time. Outside of the classroom, I love traveling with my family and participating in my church and community.
Now, I get to teach YOUR child! I can't wait!
Hi! I'm Miss Deja and I am excited to help teach this year.
I have a Masters of Art in English, as well as a Bachelors of Art in English (with a minor in Psychology) from East Carolina University, as well as a lead teachers certificate from Edgecombe Community College. I'm also furthering my education by working toward a Masters in Business from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I am CPR and First Aid Certified. I have always loved to work with kids. I worked at the Autism Society of North Carolina for a total of 4 years. It was a pleasure interacting with the children and their families. I believe teaching is super important and starting young is even more important. In my free time, I like to read, play with my cat, and try new things around the state.
Hi! I'm Mrs. Sholonda and I am excited to help advise this year.
I have a Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University, a Bachelors in Sociology and Social Work Curriculum (with a minor in Business Administration) from Elizabeth City State University, and an Associates in Early Childhood Education from Edgecombe Community College. I am trained in CPR and First Aid. I also have extensive knowledge of working with children through my previous social worker positions. My philosophy is learning should be fun for children that way they are more likely to want to learn, as well as meeting children where they are at by making it fun and eventful in order for them to grasp concepts. In my free time, I love spending time with my husband and three-year-old son, as well as traveling.

It’s never too early to call, so call as soon as you even think about registering, because our classes fill up ridiculously fast!
We have a 10-month school year (Sep.-June) with a summer break (July-August). If we have spots available, you can enroll mid-year. Please call us to see if we have any spots available.
Preschool classes are for children who are ages 3-5 (and "independent almost-3-year-olds") by Sep. 1.
Yes. If you have any questions about whether or not your child is ready, feel free to give us a call. We even have a “How To Potty Train” your child handout we can give you. It’s helped many preschool moms quickly potty train their kids. We’re here to help!
We follow a “whole child” philosophy where we work with you to improve your child’s Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical skills. Our curriculum is based on the NAEYC guidelines and features a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated hands-on activities to accomplish these goals. We also incorporate Fundamentals Preschool Curriculum. Your child will learn to socialize, make friends, develop social and emotional skills, and be more than ready for Kindergarten!
No. Your registration fee covers all your child’s supplies and reserves a spot in our program.
No worries. Several of our students have food intolerances or severe allergies. We ask these families to bring in their own snacks, and we create nut-free classrooms any time a child’s allergy is severe enough to require an epi pen.
No.
We have small class sizes, so your child gets lots of 1-on-1 attention. We only have up to 10 students per class.
Follow our simple 3-step process below to register your child into our preschool!
